Dr Bartłomiej Papis is a graduate of the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. He has been associated with the Fire Testing Department of the Building Research Institute for 19 years, where since 2017 he has served as Head of the Fire Development and Material Testing Laboratory, and since 2019 also as Head of the Fire Testing Department and Head of the Fire Testing Laboratory at the Building Research Institute. In his work at the Building Research Institute, he deals with issues related to the assessment of flammability and fire spread of construction materials, as well as testing and evaluation of construction materials and products in terms of reaction to fire. He is a member of standardization committees related to fire safety (CEN/TC 127 and PKN/KT 180) and a representative of the ITB Fire Testing Laboratory in EGOLF. He is also a member of the Scientific Council of the Building Research Institute. During his work at the Institute, he has completed several hundred studies concerning the assessment of reaction to fire, flammability, and fire spread of construction products, as well as expert opinions on buildings in this field. He is the author of dozens of scientific publications in industry journals and academic periodicals.
