A graduate of the Krakow University of Technology with a degree in civil engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. He has been professionally involved in the insulation industry for over 20 years. Currently, he serves as the Technical Director at Bolix S.A. He is a member of the Technical Committee of the Polish Association for ETICS (SSO). He is the author of numerous technical publications, articles, instructions, technical opinions, and legal documentation in the field of external wall and ceiling insulation, including expert publications of the Association. He is the creator and co-creator of many technical solutions used in insulation systems, for which exclusive rights have been granted.

Key factors determining the effectiveness of insulation adhesion to substrates in ETICS

In this presentation, an analysis of the bonding mechanism of adhesive mortars used in ETICS with thermal insulation and substrates will be presented, with a focus on how their adhesion is formed under real-life application. The factors influencing the adhesion of adhesive mortars to selected building substrates will be discussed. A newly developed method for testing the adhesion of adhesive mortars in laboratory conditions will be presented, taking into account the thickness of the adhesive layer, the type of substrate and thermal insulation, and the method of attaching the boards in relation to several different adhesives. A comparison of the test results with those obtained using the currently applicable method under the same conditions will also be presented.
